Christmas was great AND importantly I only spent about a $500. How did I do it? I gave most people one of my paintings. Right now they are worth a mere $200 or so, but one day they could be real treasures. Who knows? You take a chance.
I received many many cool things. The highlights are: a big electric West Bend griddle. It has pancakes cooking in the picture on the box. I haven't actually opened it yet, but I will; a giant birdgirl moon...funny, the person that gave me this didn't even notice the hawk that forms the girl's hair. I will put this outside in my garden on one of the walls; a botanical specimen bag...someone is trying to blast me into the past..circa 1988 when I was a crazy wildfloristchick;a box of used serial killer cards... my nephew found them in a Madison hippie shop; One PeeWee Doll...I so love his Playhouse and I want to get the VHS tapes of the show but I heard bad things about him and now I am not so sure. (I may need to behead him in my backyard ; a dog...which I promptly returned; and the coolest thing of all...a pantry! My friend K's dad is a mathemathical genius working for a big corp and in his spare time he makes things out of wood. Well, since I am forever complaining about the lack of pantries in houses, especially mine, she had him make me a geniune pantry. Secretly she came over and measured the space by my fridge and viola! I now have a pantry! It has swing-out shelves and baskets for potatoes and onions, and the top section is perfect for holding my big platters. Now how cool is that?
